TG Biotech Achieves Multiple Export Awards for ACTIPONIN®'s Overseas Success
TG Biotech (CEO Taerin Heo) has recently garnered a series of awards in recognition of the international success of its flagship functional ingredient for fat reduction, ACTIPONIN®.
On December 5, the company received both the USD 3 Million Export Tower and the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Citation during the 61st Trade Day Ceremony.
Just days later, on December 18, TG Biotech was also awarded the USD 4 Million Export Tower at the 2nd K-Food+ Awards, and on November 28, the company received the Outstanding Star Company Award at a ceremony held at EXCO in Daegu.
TG Biotech earned the USD 3 Million Export Tower at the Trade Day event, which is hosted annually by the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE).
This award recognizes companies that achieve more than USD 1 million in annual exports and break previous export records.
TG Biotech recorded more than USD 3 million in export revenue from July 2023 to June 2024.
The Ministerial Citation is awarded to individuals or organizations that have made exceptional contributions to increasing exports.
The K-Food+ Export Tower, presented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, recognizes companies that have contributed to the expansion of exports in the agri-food and related industries.
TG Biotech earned this award by achieving over USD 4 million in exports from October 2023 to September 2024.
On November 28, the company was also honored with Daegu’s Outstanding Star Company Award, which is given to firms that demonstrate strong growth and contribute to the regional economy.
TG Biotech first entered the global market in 2017 with ACTIPONIN®, a health functional ingredient derived from ethanol extract powder of Gynostemma leaves.
The company gained credibility in the global marketplace after receiving NDI (New Dietary Ingredient) approval from the U.S. FDA, and has since expanded exports to countries including the United States, Poland, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Malaysia, gaining recognition for its global competitiveness.
A company spokesperson stated:
“Building on our success in the U.S. market, we plan to accelerate our global expansion by participating in overseas exhibitions and launching new initiatives. In the coming year, we aim to enter new markets and grow existing ones significantly, with the goal of achieving the USD 10 Million Export Tower within five years.”
